Stain Removal: Oil or Tar

Paint brush cleaner will remove oil or tar stains from clothing; very useful for bicycle stains on a children's socks. Use neat on wet garments. Rinse off well.

For oil stain removal on washable material, scrape off as much as possible, then sponge with eucalyptus oil. Wash. On non-washable material scrape off as much as possible; try dry-cleaning fluid.

Tar and oil stains can sometimes be removed with toothpaste.
