Stain Removal: Alcohol

On washable material, cold rinse, then soak overnight in biological washing powder; then wash.

On non-washable material: sponge with solution of 1 part vinegar/5 parts water, then sponge with clean water; dab dry with kitchen paper towel.

Beer: apply glycerine and leave for one hour. Soak or wash in a heavy-duty detergent containing oxygen bleach. If the stain remains, try treating it with hydrogen peroxide.

Beer stains can be removed from carpets with soda water.
